This is a collection of shingles picturesDo you need to see as many shingle images as possible? I know for a fact that it is very frustrating to have a illness and to search for pictures in many places to find something similar with what you suffer of. So the intention of creating this collection of images is to help you identify your type of shingle as easy as possible.
Shingles (Zoster) is a painful skin rash that appears as a reactivation of the Varicella-zoster virus.
This virus belongs to the family of herpes viruses. When initial contacted it causes the Varicella-zoster virus chickenpox.
The virus may survive for decades in certain areas of the nervous system .
Even after a vaccination against chickenpox shingles can occur.
Chickenpox and shingles are highly contagious to people who have never had contact with the virus.
Shingles can affect all age groups, but usually is diagnosed in older or immunocompromised people (eg, cancer patients or HIV-infected individuals).
I really hope that this helps you better understand your problem. |
